The daughter of Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan, Sara Ali Khan’s debut in film has been a talking point for many since a couple of years. And the official trailer of her debut film Kedarnath, with Sushant Singh Rajput is finally here.
Taking a page from the oldest romance story in the book, two star-crossed lovers fight against all odds for love. It is a Hindu Muslim love story, of Mukku, Mansoor and Monsoon, where Sushant Singh Rajput plays a Muslim tour guide aka pithoo at the Kedarnath pilgrimage, and Sara Ali Khan, plays a pilgrim who belongs to a staunch Hindu family, something urban fanatics refer to as love jihad in our glorious country. To amplify the odds, it is set against the backdrop of the real life devastating 2013 Uttarakhand floods, one of the biggest natural disasters in recent memory.
Featuring Sushant Singh Rajput, Sara Ali Khan, Nitish Bharadwaj, Alka Amin, Sonali Sachdev, Pooja Gor and Nishant Dahiya, the film is directed by Abhishek Kapoor, best known for Rock On and Kai Po Che. The film is co-written by Manmarziyaan writer Kanika Dhillon.
The film about a love story that weathers a few storms may also have gone through a few storms during its production. Its final credited producers are Ronnie Screwvala & Pragya Kapoor (wife of the director), with production companies RSVP Movies and Guy in the Sky Pictures.
Kedarnath is releasing on December 7, with her next film Simmba, with Ranveer Singh, releasing in the same month on December 28.
