The Viral Fever (TVF) have just released the trailer of Kota Factory, a black and white web series that takes a look at lives of Kota’s students, its coaching center industry, and the ups and downs of IIT JEE preparations, through the eyes of a 16-year-old student. Vaibhav moves to the city with hopes of clearing the JEE and getting into an IIT.
Kota, a small city in Rajasthan, is famous for the coaching center industry for the many IIT-JEE, the IIT entrance exam, aspirants who land up there. It all started in the 80s with an engineer who suffered from paralysis started to give tuitions to make both ends meet. That was VK Bansal, behind the now famed Bansal Classes Pvt. Ltd.
And this show may just be a great insight into the anxiety fuelled lives of the IIT aspirants, who move to Kota for a year of incredibly regimented life and unimaginable pressure. At least two members of the main team of TVF are IIT graduates. Watch the trailer here.
Starring Mayur More, Jitendra Kumar, and Ahsaas Channa; the show integrates India’s largest learning platform, Unacademy's offerings into the narrative. Created by Saurabh Khanna (IIT Kanpur), directed by Raghav Subbu, it has been written by Abhishek Yadav, Saurabh Khanna and Sandeep Jain (IIT Delhi). Post the controversy last year concerning Arunabh Kumar, TVF seems to be finding its footing again, having announced the release of Season 2 of TVF Tripling recently too.
