Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and Benaras Mediaworks Production have released the official trailer of Thappad starring Taapsee Pannu and Pavail Gulati in lead roles.
The film shares the story of Amrita whose seemingly perfect life is shattered with one hard-hitting slap. Sorry, it was right there for the taking. But is one slap enough to question what a relationship stands for?The trailer begins with Taapsee Pannu in a meeting with her lawyers who cannot fathom why she wants a separation from her husband (Pavail Gulati ) over ‘just a slap’. Is it a good enough reason to leave one’s spouse? But it was that very episode that made her realise how the slap isn’t an isolated incident but reflects how her husband never really thought of her as an equal. Watch the trailer here.
The cast also includes Ratna Pathak Shah, Manav Kaul, Dia Mirza, Tanvi Azmi and Ram Kapoor.
Thappad is directed by the Article 15 and Mulk filmmaker Anubhav Sushila Sinha and written by Anubhav Sushila Sinha with Mrunmayee Lagoo Waikul and a script consultant in Anjum Rajabali. It is produced by Bhushan Sudesh Kumar, Krishan Krishna Kumar and Anubhav Sushila Sinha. For the curious, to the filmmakers of Thappad, Kabir Singh was a happy coincidence, not a response to it.
Thappad is slated to release on 28 February 2020, once you’re past your Valentine’s Day mushy feelings or done loving to hate on it.
