Amazon Prime Video has another original coming soon for the Indian audience, with the girl gang of Mumbai city. A slice of life fiction series revolving around four women and life in the city that never sleeps, the series named Four More Shots Please! with an urban, millennial Indian woman’s gaze, features Sayani Gupta, Kirti Kulhari, Bani J and Maanvi Gagroo in lead roles. The supporting cast includes Prateik Babbar, Neil Bhoopalam, Lisa Ray, and Milind Soman.
A largely female led cast and crew, Rangita Nandy is the creator of the show and Anu Menon is the director for the first season. She has previously directed the movies London, Paris, New York (2012) and Waiting (2016). Written by Devika Bhagat, with dialogues by Ishita Moitra, Four More Shots Please! revolves around the lives of four very different women each fighting their own individual battles.
The first Four More Shots Please! trailer introduces the four leads of the show: Anjana (Kirti Kulhari), a single mother with a strange relationship with her ex, Damini (Sayani Gupta), an independent journalist who prefers the efficiency of masturbation to sex, Umang (Bani J), who's sexually free and bi-curious, and Siddhi (Maanvi Gagroo), a chubby virgin with a strife ridden relationship with her mother.
Based in the southern tip of Mumbai, these four friends get together every couple of days to binge talk and get smash drunk at their favorite garage bar, ‘Truck’. The magic of pure, unadulterated and flawed friendship helps them survive in a country caught in a constant battle between the traditional and modern, where being a thinking woman is good but bad. The 10-episode Season 1 of the series will be available for streaming on 25 January 2019 on Amazon Prime Video in India and across the world.
