Fawad Khan has not really been seen on the big screen in Pakistani cinema since the 2007 Khuda Ke Liye (directed by Bilal Lashari). And famous for his boy next door charm, he may have never been seen in this beefed up avatar. The film is a big budget remake of the 1979 action film Maula Jatt, tracing the journey of a local hero who takes on a brutal gang leader.
It also reunites him with his Humsafar co-star Mahira Khan who plays Mukkho Jatti. Humaima Malick as Daaro Nattni, Gohar Rasheed as Maakha Natt and Hamza Ali Abbasi as Noori Natt, round out the cast.
The film is produced by Encyclomedia & Lashari Films Production in association with AAA Motion Pictures. The movie will release in Pakistan in June 2019 on Eid-ul-Fitr. And apparently in China too!
