The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir marks the international debut of the Tamil film star Dhanush in a film by Ken Scott. And the distributors have launched the trailer for the Indian release of the film today.

The trailer shows Dhanush as the incorrigible but sweet Ajatashatru Lavash Patel, who discovers his family is poor as a child and decides he'd like to reject and change that reality. And so the adventures of Aja start where he learns magic tricks and becomes a street magician. You see, he's a believer. All grown up, he manages to go to France with his mother, fake 100 Euros, and some gumption to find his father. But when he gets trapped in an IKEA wardrobe and sent to England, The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir truly begins. Watch the trailer here.

Directed by the Canadian filmmaker Ken Scott, The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir is based on the book of the same name written by Romain Puertolas. The film co-stars international stalwarts and stars in Berenice Bejo (Oscars, Golden Globes and BAFTA nominee for 2011 film The Artist), Barkhad Abdi (Oscars, Golden Globes nominee and BAFTA winner for 2013 film Captain Phillips), four-time Cesar nominee Gerard Jugnot. Erin Moriarty (best known for Captain Fantastic), and British comic actor Ben Miller.

The English version of The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir will release across India on 21 June 2019. A Tamil version of the film, which is titled Pakkiri, will also release at the same time in Tamil Nadu. If you are in the mood for some light-hearted fun, go watch this film.
