Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment/ Shah Rukh Khan have just released the official trailer of Bard of Blood, commissioned for production last year. And it is full of powerhouse performers backed by potentially a tight screenplay.The trailer shows a RAW top official (Rajit Kapur) bring back an excommunicated RAW agent, Kabir Anand/ code name Adonis (Emraan Hashmi), to work with a courageous analyst, Isha Khanna (Sobhita Dhulipala), and a sleeper agent, Veer Singh (Vineet Kumar Singh). This is for a covert mission in Balochistan when four Indian spies are captured by a terrorist camp, whose leader is seen in Jaideep Ahlawat. But the mission soon turns south as Kabir Anand must face his demons from the past to end a war before it begins. Watch the trailer, in which you’ll also catch a glimpse of Kirti Kulhari.
The Red Chillies Entertainment/ Shah Rukh Khan production, Bard of Blood is based on a book of the same name by Bilal Siddiqi and has been directed by Ribhu Dasgupta who has previously directed Amitabh Bachchan starrer Te3n. He is also presently working on the Hindi remake of The Girl on the Train starring Parineeti Chopra.
While the trailer looks like a template spy thriller with nothing new to offer in terms of content, the powerhouse performers are certainly enough of a draw to want to watch Bard of Blood. The seven-episode mini-series will premiere on September 27 on Netflix.
