​Sir by Rohena Gera premieres in India at the 10th Jagran Film Festival in Mumbai this September, finally. Are you going?

Jagran Film Festival (JFF) is an initiative by Jagran Prakashan Group, which showcases Indian independent and world cinema across various cities every year.

The 10th edition was inaugurated in New Delhi in July this year, since when it has been travelling across the country. From Delhi, the festival travelled through Kanpur, Lucknow, Allahabad, Varanasi, Meerut, Dehradun, Hisar, Ludhiana, Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Gorakhpur, Indore and Bhopal, is scheduled for Raipur and Agra next, and finishes in Mumbai.The final 4-day program will be held in Mumbai from 26 – 29 September 2019, with some lovely films as part of its lineup.​ ​

The opening film is ​a 2018 Cannes Film Festival winning film Sir by Rohena Gera. ​And this happens to be the India premiere of the film! The film features Court producer – actor Vivek Gomber and Tillotama Shome in the story of an unlikely attraction between a man and his maid​ ​servant.​ Watch the trailer here.

The film has made waves across the world Sir is one of the five most-watched Indian films in French theatres​, where it released last year​, after a wonderful premiere at Cannes Film Festival 2018.​ Find some pictures here. ​​Amongst the other films playing at the festival, ​notable films include –

  6. Jhalki by Brahmanand S Singh,
  7. Virus by Aashiq Abu,
  8. Lihaaf by Rahat Kazmi,
  9. Dhuusar (Grey) by Snehashish Mondal and Soumi Saha,
  10. and a special screening of Article 15 by Anubhav Sinha, if you missed it earlier.
