Vicky Kaushal makes a proud patriot out of you via the Uri Teaser. Watch now.

Based on true events, the first teaser of the military thriller film URI is out. And it would make even the reluctant feel patriotic.

The teaser features the actor of 2018, Vicky Kaushal, who has showcased the chameleon he is transforming into a Pakistani Muslim soldier in Raazi, an oblivious but love struck middle class married man in Lust Stories, a Gujarati businessman in Sanju, to a Punjabi man-child in his latest Manmarziyaan. He plays an Indian army soldier in URI who led the surgical strike and the group of paratroopers in the retaliation across the Line of Control (LoC) in 2016. It also stars Paresh Rawal and Yami Gautam, whom we hope to see more in the official trailer.

The 2016 Uri Attack is the true story of an attack by four heavily armed militants on 18 September 2016, near the town of Uri in Jammu and Kashmir, India. BBC reported it as “the deadliest attack on security forces in Kashmir in two decades”. 19 army personnel were martyred, most from the Dogra Regiment and Bihar Regiment, and more than 25 injured.
On 29 September 2016, Indian soldiers went to avenge those martyred in the Uri Attack. The film is their story.

Written & directed by Aditya Dhar who marks his directorial debut with this film, it is produced by Ronnie Screwvala, and will be releasing in cinemas on 11 January, 2019.
