Uri has entered the list of the top 10 films at the Indian box office ever. Which film did it topple?

Uri

Uri has managed to create another big record! It has entered the list of the top 10 films at the Indian box office ever, in Week 8 on Day 53. The debut feature film by director Aditya Dhar, stars Vicky Kaushal as an Indian army soldier in URI who led the surgical strike and the group of paratroopers in the retaliation across the Line of Control (LoC) in 2016, and is produced by Ronnie Screwvala of RSVP Films.
Even more impressively, the film it has shaken off the list of top 10 films at the box office is none other than the Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba, which released on the last weekend of 2018, on December 27, and had a lifetime box office collection of ₹240.31 crore. It was still in theatres when Uri released, on January 11, 2019.
The film has enjoyed one of the most incredible and record creating long tail at the cinemas. This can be seen in it’s weekly collections, which are just in the home country.
Week 1: ₹ 71.26 cr
Week 2: ₹ 62.77 cr
Week 3: ₹ 37.02 cr
Week 4: ₹ 29.34 cr
Week 5: ₹ 18.74 cr
Week 6: ₹ 11.56 cr
Week 7: ₹ 6.68 cr
Week 8: Fri ₹38 lakhs, Sat ₹80 lakhs, Sun ₹1.18 cr, Mon ₹67 lakhs.
Current Total: ₹ 240.38 cr.
Still going strong in theatres, it has both a very good chance to topple the Hrithik Roshan starrer Krrish 3 from the No. 9 spot with a collection of ₹244.92 crore, and maybe even make a solid ₹250 crore. We would confidently say that even the makers and actors did not expect this. Read all the previous records created here
