It might make you believe love can transcend.​ ​The father-daughter duo Anil and Sonam Kapoor’s ​have come together​ on screen for the first time,​ and​ for something unique for sure.​​ The film releases in theatres on 1 February 2019, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

The film is the story of Sweety (Sonam Kapoor), and an over-enthusiastic family that wants to get her married, especially her father (Anil Kapoor). A young writer is completely smitten by her (Rajkummar Rao) amongst other prospective grooms. But the secrets that have lasted locked forever must come out now. Will true love not find acceptance in her family and society? The film also stars Juhi Chawla​, Abhishek Duhan​ and​ famous Tamil cinema actress​ Regina Cassandra​​.

​The ​directorial debut of Shelly Chopra Dhar, the sister of Vidhu Vinod Chopra​, the film has been co-written by her and Gazal Dhaliwal, who has been on the writing team of Wazir, Qarib Qarib Single and Lipstick Under My Burkha. Vidhu Vinod Chopra produces this film for Fox Star Studios, whereas the title comes from a hit song of the same name from his 1994 period drama 1942: A Love Story, which starred Anil Kapoor.​
