Amazon Prime Video’s first Indian original series, Inside Edge, returns with Season 2 after 2 years. And the trailer has been released today. The show produced by Excel Entertainment is set in the world of professional Indian cricket, one of India’s favourite obsessions. The games behind the scenes continue, with bidding wars, backroom politics, power games, enhancement drugs, and even a murder conspiracy, and last but not the least, cricket.
The cast of Season 1 returns with Vivek Oberoi, Richa Chadha, Angad Bedi, Tanuj Virwani, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Amit Sial, Jitin Gulati, and Sayani Gupta. The trailer of Season 2 introduces Aamir Bashir as the unscrupulous ‘Bhai Saab’, oft-mentioned in Season 1, facing off with a terribly accented Luke Kenny, who plays some sort of international regulator. But what does have our attention is the face-off between Arvind Vashishthh (Angad Bedi) and Vayu Raghavan (Tanuj Virwani). Watch the trailer here.
Amazon Prime Video’s first Indian original series, Season 1 of Inside Edge was nominated for an International Emmy Awards in 2018. Since then, it has delivered other popular series such as Mirzapur, Made in Heaven and The Family Man. It has managed to get an Emmy nomination in 2019 too, with The Remix, a music reality show, which has been nominated for the Best Non-Scripted Entertainment Award. The results will be announced on 25 November 2019.
The trailer of Inside Edge Season 2 wants to promise higher stakes. But only the actual Season 2 will tell if they deliver up to the standards of the writing of Season 1. Inside Edge Season 2 will start streaming from December 6 on Amazon Prime Video.
