The much-awaited trailer of the second season of Netflix India’s cult original series Sacred Games has been released today.
The trailer begins with the beloved character Bunty (Jatin Sarna) receiving a call from Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) on his surprise reappearance. Only he has moved to Kenya to continue his reign as a crime lord. On the other hand, Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) is still looking for more clues to protect Mumbai from the impending bombing attack. But is it nuclear in nature? The names of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are mentioned in the trailer.
The trailer only gives quick rushes thereon, not sharing much of the plotline. But we are shown glimpses of Guruji (Pankaj Tripathi) and his luxurious life, along with Shahid Khan (Ranvir Shorey) and Batya Abelman (Kalki Koechlin). Made In Heaven star Sobhita Dhulipala and Mirzapur and Puncch Beat actor Harshita Gaur will also be seen in Season 2.

Season 1 of Sacred Games had two directors, with Anurag Kashyap directing the old timeline, especially Ganesh Gaitonde’s track, and Vikramaditya Motwane directing the current timeline, seen as Sartaj Singh’s track. While Kashyap continues, Neeraj Ghaywan takes over from Motwane is Season 2. Motwane continues to be the showrunner, whereas Varun Grover continues as lead writer adapting Vikram Chandra’s book of the same name, along with Smita Singh and Vasant Nath.
Although the streaming giant decided to release it on the day India plays against New Zealand in the ICC World Cup 2019 semifinal, it has not suffered from a lesser audience owing to the rain in Manchester, and the downtime available at hand to the audience. The teaser for Season 2 was released on 6 May 2019.
Sacred Games Season 2 releases on 15 August 2019. Season 1 had released on 6 July 2018, so S2 hits the screen just about in time.
