Good Sam is one of the latest Netflix Originals. The feature film is based on the mystery book series of the same name by Dete Meserve and directed by Kate Melville from a script by Meserve and Teena Booth.
The film follows a mysterious good Samaritan, aka “Good Sam,” leaves $100,000 in cash on seemingly random doorsteps, New York City TV news reporter Kate Bradley (Tiya Sircar) sets out discover Good Sam’s true identity and motive, turning her personal life upside down. Will the sceptic find there is more goodness than not out there in the world? Watch the trailer.
Tiya Sircar is an American of Bengali Indian origin born in Texas, with her parents, Sumit Sircar and Arpana Majumdar, both college professors, known for playing ethnically ambiguous roles. The actress has previously worked on shows like The Mindy Project, Master of None and was also on the wonderful ABC show, Alex, Inc. Currently, she can be seen on the brilliant NBC comedy The Good Place.
Good Sam premieres on May 16 on Netflix.
