Good Newwz has been in the news ever since it was announced last year for its interesting casting choice. The trailer has been launched today for the film by Dharma Productions and Akshay Kumar’s production house Cape of Good Films.
The film follows the Batras vs Batras. Varun and Deepti Batra (Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan) want to have a child before it’s too late. They go to an IVF clinic, where a mixup leads to their fates getting tied with another couple – Honey and Monika Batra (Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani). The diametrically opposite couples need to find a way together to work with this unique situation. But the clash of personalities is quite hilarious, leading to bringing on the laughs. Based on the trailer, we would give most of the credit for that to Diljit Dosanjh. The cast is joined by Adil Hussain and Tisca Chopra in supporting roles. Watch the trailer here.
Directed by Raj Mehta, Good Newwz is written by Jyoti Kapoor, with Rishabh Sharma & Raj Mehta pitching in dialogues and additional Screenplay by Rishabh Sharma. Raj Mehta makes his debut as a director with this film, although he has been a long-time Dharma Productions fixture, having been the first assistant director for Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Kapoor and Sons, and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Jyoti Kapoor wrote the breakout film of last year, Badhaai Ho. The trailer was launched today by Karan Johar, who produces the film with Hiroo Yash Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan.
Good Newwz will be in cinemas this Christmas, 27 December 2019. And it may be your perfect mindless watch for the holidays.
