Roy Kapur Films, RSVP Films, with SK Global, and Purple Pebble Pictures have released the trailer of their film The Sky Is Pink today, 10 September.
The film is a true love story of a couple spanning 25 years, told through the lens of their critically ill teenage daughter. She is sassy, sardonic, spunky and also…dead! Despite the intensity of the plot, the trailer has the laughs and is indeed for a humorous love story. The film is inspired by late Indian teenage author Aisha Chaudhary and her family. Aisha Chaudhary was a young Indian author and motivational speaker with pulmonary fibrosis who passed away at the age of nineteen. She is the author of the book My Little Epiphanies, published one day before her death.
While Zaira Wasim plays the role of Aisha Chaudhary, Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar play her parents and Rohit Saraf plays the role of her brother, Ishaan Chaudhary. Watch the trailer now.
The Sky is Pink has premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and is also playing at the London Film Festival on 6 – 7 October. A TIFF alumna, this is director Shonali Bose’s fourth outing, her previous being Amu (2005), Chittagong (2012) and Margarita With A Straw (2014). Of these, Amu and Margarita With a Straw premiered at TIFF. Notedly, Priyanka Chopra has had two films play at TIFF before too, Mary Kom and her production Pahuna.
The film is co-written by Shonali Bose & Nilesh Maniyar with Juhi Chaturvedi also involved for the Hindi dialogues. With music by Pritam and lyrics by Gulzar, the film has been shot by Kartik Vijay and Nick Cooke, edited by Manas Mittal and with a music score by Mikey Mccleary.
The Sky is Pink will release on 11 October in India. And you must watch it!
