The film by the director of Ishqiya and Udta Punjab, Sonchiriya has got us all waiting for another gritty tale from the deeper pockets of India since its teaser was released in December.
Set in the Chambal valley in the 1970s, the trailer shows a plot about inter-gang wars between different dacoit groups fighting for control (Sushant SIngh Rajput, Ranvir Shorey and Manoj Bajpayee), a woman unafraid to pick up a gun (Bhumi Pednekar), at a time when the government has ordered a crackdown with a ruthless cop at the helm (Ashutosh Rana). The trailer also gives us a glimpse of Jatin Sarna, who has acquired cult appeal since his role as Bunty in Sacred Games.
A MacGuffin Pictures Production, produced by Ronnie Screwvala of RSVP Films, the film is set for a February 8, 2019 release.
