The official trailer of Angrezi Medium shows Irrfan khan as a father who would go to any lengths for his daughter’s dreams.

Maddock Films and Jio Studios have released the trailer of Angrezi Medium today, on 13 February 2020. The film directed by Homi Adjania is a spin-off of Irrfan Khan’s 2017 comedy Hindi Medium, which was directed by Saket Choudhary and starred Pakistani actor Saba Qamar as the female lead.

Angrezi Medium is the story of a single father and his daughter’s dreams​ of going to university abroad​. Champak (Irrfan khan), an Udaipur based sweet shop owner, is very attached to his teenaged daughter Tarika (Radhika Madan). The trailer begins with Champak attempting to deliver a speech in Tarika’s school in broken English when she wins an award. Tarika’s dreams of studying abroad, which Champak initially equates to moving to Jaipur. But Tarika, who is a topper at her school in Udaipur, convinces her dad to arrange for fees for her admission in London’s Truford University. The only thing is, it costs a lot more than what a mithaiwala makes. Will Champak be able to come up with the money? Watch the trailer here. 

Headlined by Irrfan Khan and Radhika Madan, Angrezi Medium also stars Kareena Kapoor, Deepak Dobriyal, Dimple Kapadia, Ranvir Shorey, Pankaj Tripathi and Kiku Sharda. Deepak Dobriyal is seen as Dheeraj, Champak’s frenemy. The two fight over the authenticity of Champak’s sweet shop but when it comes time to go find the money, it is Dheeraj who accompanies Champak to London. Kareena Kapoor is seen as a tough cop named Naina.

Angrezi Medium is all set to open in theatres on March 20.
