SIR to have it’s Gala Premiere tonight at Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland. Watch a clip!

Sir by Rohena Gera has another premiere ahead with a Gala Premiere in Switzerland at the Zurich Film Festival today, playing on 1, 4 and 7 October. It is the only Indian film at the festival.
The film is also playing in the Panorama | Contemporary World Cinema section of the Vancouver International Film Festival on Sunday October 7, and Monday October 8, the Mill Valley Film Festival (where The Sweet Requiem will also play) on 10 October and Warsaw Film Festival on 14 October.

Directed by Rohena Gera whose last outing was​ a documentary​ also about love, it features Tillotama Shome and Court producer-actor Vivek Gomber in pivotal roles.
Ratna, works as a maid servant for Ashwin, the wealthy son of a builder and her boss. They come from opposite sides of the world and perspective. She is full of hope with nothing, and he’s lost his dreams while seeming to have it all. An unlikely romance comes to fore as worlds collide and people connect. Watch a clip here.

Sir had its world premiere at Cannes Film Festival 2018 in the Critics Week | Semaine De La Critique section to rave reviews. Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian said  “A delicately observed and attractive drama with some great ​#Mumbai cityscapes and an excellent performance from Tillotama Shome.” It won the GAN Foundation award at Cannes Film Festival, with €20,000 ($27,000) for ​Diaphana, the French distributor to help distribute in France. It will be releasing in France on 26 December 2018. The film was also in competition for the Camera D’Or.

Since then it has played at the Festival du Film de Cabourg where it won the Audience Award, Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, World Cinema Amsterdam, Haifa International Film Festival, and in the Competition Section at Ostrava Kamera Oko.

It has already released in Netherlands and also releasing in Germany on November 8. Sir hasn’t announced an Indian release date yet.
