If you’ve been a big fan of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali, then you know about the prequel coming to Netflix. But do you also know that the franchise has a truly Made In India animated series on Amazon Prime?
The series, launched in 2017, is produced by Graphic India, which leads the animation, and Arka Mediaworks, and is created by SS Rajamouli and Sharad Devarajan (Graphic India). And Season 4 has just released with 16 new episodes, bringing the series episode count to 55!
Baahubali: The Lost Legends is set before the Kalakeya invasion in the first film, in a time when Baahubali and Bhallaladeva are still both young princes of Mahishmati. The two brothers compete and go on epic adventures under the watchful eye of Sivagami and Katappa, as they try to prove who’s worthy of ruling the kingdom one day.
In the new season, Mahishmati and its protectors face their greatest challenge yet and find themselves targets of a mysterious new force seeking revenge on the legendary kingdom. Watch the trailer here.
As they say, the legend of Baahubali truly continues. Baahubali: The Lost Legends is available in India and the USA, but not in the EU yet. Season 4 started streaming on 10 April 2019.
Netflix will get its own Baahubali series soon too. Baahubali: Before the Beginning is a series based on Anand Neelakantan’s 2017 novel The Rise of Sivagami, jointly directed by Deva Katta and Praveen Sattaru.
