Set in Kashmir, Hamid is the story of an eight-year-old boy, who learns that 786 is God’s number and decides to try and reach out to God, by dialing this number. He wants to talk to his father, who his mother tells him has gone to Allah. One fine day, the phone call is answered.
Directed by Aijaz Khan and produced by Vikram Mehra, Siddharth Anand Kumar of Yoodlee Films, the film stars Talha Arshad Reshi, Rasika Dugal, Vikas Kumar and Sumit Kaul. The film will have its global premiere at the Jio MAMI 20th Mumbai Film Festival With Star and has been shortlisted for the Oxfam Best Film on Gender Equality.
