Written, shot, co-produced, co-edited and directed by Alfonso Cuarón, the film won the Golden Lion at the 75th Venice International Film Festival. Set in Mexico City, the film stars Yalitza Aparicio, Marina de Tavira, Marco Graf, Daniela Demesa, Enoc Leaño and Daniel Valtierra. Available on Netflix on 14 December 2018.
2. Mary Queen of Scots
Based on John Guy’s biography, the film is directed by Josie Rourke and adapted by Beau Willimon. The film stars Saoirse Ronan in the titular character and Margot Robbie as her distant cousin.
3. Bohemian Rhapsody
Directed by Bryan Singer, it is written by Anthony McCarten, produced by Graham King and former Queen manager Jim Beach, and stars Rami Malek as FreddieMercury, the lead singer of Queen. Trivia – He was born as Farrokh Bulsara, a Gujarati who spent most of his childhood in India.
4. Shoplifters
The Japanese drama by the revered Hirokazu Kore-eda won the Palme d’Or at Cannes Film Festival 2018. It is written, directed and edited by Koreeda, and features Lily Franky and Sakura Ando.
5. Fantastic Beasts – The Crimes of Grindelwald
The sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) is directed by David Yates, with a screenplay by J. K. Rowling. The film features an ensemble cast led by Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, with Jude Law and Johnny Depp.
And a bonus feature! This new poster is for a film that is not releasing this fall but it started shooting this fall. Featuring Bhumi Pednekar and Konkona Sen Sharma, and directed by Alankrita Shrivastava of Lipstick Under My Burkha, the poster of Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare is a grand tease.
