The movie based on award-winning author Kashi Nath Singh’s book award-winning author, is set between 1990 and 1998, against the backdrop of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement to build a temple in Ayodhya at the site of the Babri Mosque and the implementation of the Mandal commission report granting reservations to Other Backward Castes.
Having embattled legal, production and censorship delays for the last 3 years, the highly contentious film is set to release in theatres on November 16. And if the trailer is anything to go by, it is going to make a lot of people uncomfortable. Is that a bad thing? No.
