HBO is bringing in all the goodies. Having just released the final season of Game of Thrones, it has also now given us the teaser trailer of Big Little Lies Season 2.
Based on the novel by Liane Moriarty, what was originally meant to be a mini-series became a returning series owing to its massive success and the powerhouse women in it – Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern and Zoë Kravitz. And if that was not amazing in itself, they come back this year with Meryl Streep. We’ve been careful to not have spoilers ahead but tread lightly. Or simply watch the trailer.
If you saw Season 1, you know who died. While the murder investigation is over, Meryl Streep comes in as the mother to find out what really happened to her son. And the community of Monterey, California calls the tainted women The Monterey Five. As they walk with The Scarlet Letter on their back, will the lies eat The Monterey Five?
The sophomore season will also introduce a few new characters with actors Crystal Fox, Martin Donovan, Mo McRae, Douglas Smith, Poorna Jagannathan and Denis O’Hare.
The five Emmy Awards and three Golden Globes Awards winner, Big Little Lies returns for Season 2 on 9 June 2019, in the same week as The Handmaid’s Tale.
