The trailer of the film Judgementall Hai Kya has finally been released, after a name change from the original film titled Mental Hai Kya.
It starts off pitting the two protagonists as the suspects for a murder case. While Keshav (Rajkummar Rao) plays the character of what is seen as a model citizen of society and defines ‘normal’ in every way, Bobby (Kangana Ranaut) has always lived a life seen as ‘crazy’ by many, including the police. But does that really make her the ‘mental’ person and the obvious suspect? While it is not explicitly mentioned in the trailer, the murder seems to be of the girl Keshav had moved in with (Amyra Dastur) next to Bobby’s home. Watch the trailer.
The film has been directed by the Telugu filmmaker Prakash Kovelamudi known for Size Zero (2015) and Anaganaga O Dheerudu (2011). It is written by current industry sensation Kanika Dhillon, who was the writer of Size Zero (2015) and recently wrote Manmarziyaan (2018) and Kedarnath (2018).
The promotions had suggested a quirky comedy but the trailer seems very much of a drama that quirky spirals into a dark-ish thriller and murder mystery. Produced by Balaji Entertainment and Shailesh R Singh, Judgementall Hai Kya is slated for a 26 July 2019 release.
