Amazon Prime Video has launched the trailer of their next Original called Tandav. A political thriller, the drama series is original writing and not an adaptation of a book or a foreign series.
The trailer introduces Samar Pratap Singh (Saif Ali Khan) as the probable heir to the position of Prime Minister (yes, nepotism rules) when his father and incumbent Prime Minister dies. Only his rival Anuradha (Dimple Kapadia) warns Samar that the position is hers if he would like to keep his secret a secret. The concept of democracy seems a farce, with a palace as the backdrop, likening them all as royalty who are contenders for kingship and not a public servant’s position based on voting. But perhaps, there’s more truth to that than we acknowledge. The trailer, in fact, starts with Samar’s father, Devki Nandan (Tigmanshu Dhulia), sharing that Samar is a divisive dictator in the making, even he fears coming to power. Watch the trailer here.
Created and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar (Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Bharat), it has been written by Gaurav Solanki and produced by Himanshu Kishan Mehra & Ali Abbas Zafar. Tandav boasts of a huge ensemble cast in Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Zeeshan Ayub, Sunil Grover, Kritika Kamra, Kumud Mishra, Sara Jane Dias, Dino Morea, Gauahar Khan, Sandhya Mridul, Anup Soni, and more.
The teaser was released a few weeks ago showcasing the same grandeur and games. Tandav will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video on 15 January 2020. Add it to your watchlist.
