Article 15 of the Indian Constitution prohibits the state from discriminating against any citizen on the ground of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth. But in a country as complex as India, has the Article truly been upheld?
The film follows the journey of a police officer who wants to uphold it. The trailer starts with two young girls’ bodies hanging from a tree, who’ve been brutally raped and murdered in a village. The reason behind it? The two girls were Dalit who demanded a hike of Rs 3 in their daily wages from the landowners, who are of the Brahmin community, deemed upper class by some.
The teaser was released a few days ago. Watch here.
Article 15 releases on 28 June across India. This is a must-watch film.
