The first official trailer for Rajkummar Rao’s upcoming film Made in China has been released today, 18 September.
The film is based on the life of a struggling Gujarati businessman, Raghu Mehta (Rajkummar Rao). He dreams of being a successful and rich “entrepreneur” instead of the Nepali handicraft dealer he is now. In his pursuit of making it big, he heads to China and gets his hand on the Chinese “viagra” soup product, sold to him by a man who believes Indian people want sex the most. He then meets a renowned sexologist Dr Vardhi (Boman Irani), with whom he strikes a deal to sell Chinese viagra to customers. But as a comedy of errors goes, will the Gujarati be able to ‘jugaad’ his way out of this mess? Watch the trailer here.
Made in China also features an ensemble cast comprising of Mouni Roy as his wife, Sumeet Vyas as a friend, and Amyra Dastur, with a special appearance by Paresh Rawal, and Gajraj Rao.
The film has been directed by National Award-winner Mikhil Musale, who won the Best Director Award for Wrong Side Raju in 2016. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, presented in association with Jio Studios.
Made in China will be releasing on 25 October for Diwali this year. It was originally set to hit the big screens on August 15.
