Laakhon Mein Ek, created by Biswa Kalyan Rath, had a great Season 1. Set up as an anthology series depicting the lives of ordinary people, faced with otherwise extraordinary circumstances, Season 2 is centered around Dr. Shreya Pathare. A bright and young medical student, she is made to conduct a cataract camp for the government in the remote town of Sitlapur, Maharashtra. While her own inexperience catches her out of her comfort zone, her idealism is also put into question as she’s thrown into the real world of a system that doesn’t work, with government quota medicines being black marketed. Will she still want to be a doctor, having seen one of the grim realities of her profession? Watch the trailer.
You may have seen the lead actress Shweta Tripathi in Masaan, Haraamkhor, Mirzapur and most recently in Made in Heaven and Gone Kesh. And she is a talent to watch.
Season 1 premiered on Amazon Prime on 13 October 2017, which told the story of Aakash, an average student, who dreams of becoming a mimicry actor. His path is complicated when his father forced him to join IIT Coaching classes.
Season 2 of Laakhon Mein Ek will premiere on 12 April 2019 only on Amazon Prime Video. Add it to your watchlist.
