While James Earl Jones reprises the role of Mufasa in the English version, Disney has roped in Kabir Bedi for it in the Hindi version. The actor shared the Hindi teaser of The Lion King via his Twitter account. The English version of The Lion King features an incredible ensemble voice-over cast of Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Beyoncé as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogan as Pumba, John Kani as Rafiki and Billy Eichner as Timon.
Hans Zimmer, who was behind the magical score for the 1994 film, is creating the background score for the film while Elton John is meant to rework some of his original compositions too.
Jon Favreau previous works include The Jungle Book (2016), Iron Man (2008) and Iron Man 2 (2010). The Jungle Book was a blockbuster at the box office in India by earning over Rs 180 crore.
The Lion King is slated to release on 19 July, 2019.
