The official trailer of the next Netflix India Original series, Selection Day is here. And it looks pretty amazing!
Two teenagers Radha and Manju are brought to Mumbai from Badhona Vilage in Madhya Pradesh, their strict cricket – obsessed father, in the hope of them becoming star cricketers. With the whole world against them, Manju and Radha get ready for the toughest innings of their life.
But 14-year-old Manju doesn’t share his father’s dream and starts to develop a friendship with his elder brother’s greatest cricket rival. The rare Indian boy who doesn’t love cricket, as Selection Day for the under-19 cricket team nears, it’s not just the selectors who have to make a choice.
Featuring the boys Mohammad Samad, Yash Shashank Dholye in pivotal roles and Rajesh Tailang as the father, the cast includes Mahesh Manjrekar as the coach, Karanvir Malhotra, Ratna Pathak Shah, Akshay Oberoi, and what seems to be a very hipster looking God appearance by Shiv Pandit.
Based on Aravind Adiga’s book and produced by Anil Kapoor Film Company and Seven Stories Ltd (Anand Tucker), Selection Day is the next Indian Netflix Original series.
Selection Day premieres on Netflix on 28 December. Add it to your Netflix watchlist here.
