The film follows four women from various parts of the Delhi and NCR (National Capital Region), who meet in a ‘Ladies Only’ taxi ride. Getting into an altercation with a man who’s teasing them, they decide to make an example of him. Holding him hostage and assaulting him to prove a point, how far will they go? Tottaa Pataaka Item Maal is a small independent film, with Shalini Vatsa, Chitrangada Saturupa, Vinay Sharma, Sonal Joshi and Kritika Pande as the main cast. It has played at film festivals such as the 21st UK Asian Film Festival and the 20th Kala Ghoda Film Festival in 2019. The film is written, directed and produced by Aditya Kripalani, whose first film Tikli and Laxmi bomb, delved into a similar theme of women taking their power back, albeit as sex workers, meeting mixed reviews. The Singapore/ India based director, Aditya Kripalani is a script writing graduate from the Film and Television Institute of India and with significant experience and accolades in advertising.
