The trailer of the film Late Night is finally here and all the Mindy Kaling and Emma Thompson fans have much to be excited about. Welcome to the world of Late Night television, with the rare female host. Only is her time up?The plot revolves around Katherine Newbury (Emma Thompson), a legendary host on the late-night talk-show circuit, who’s been told it’s her last year in the spotlight due to the low ratings. Since she’s also been accused of being a “woman who hates women,” she hires Molly (Mindy Kaling) as the one woman for her so far all-male writers’ room.

Mindy Kaling is the writer of Late Night, with Nisha Ganatra as the director. Kaling is best know as the actor-writer from the hit TV series The Office and The Mindy Project. The Canadian Indian filmmaker was on the Golden Globe winning team in 2015 as the consulting producer – episodes director of the television series Transparent.
The film was acquired at Sundance Film Festival, where it made its world premiere, amongst much fanfare, by Amazon Studios. Late Night will release in theatres on June 7 in USA. Let’s see when it comes to India, else we’ll watch it on Prime Video.
